How it works — in detail

Here’s a more thorough breakdown of how the integration behaves:

1. Initial setup & sync

• To begin, you go to your GunsAmerica dashboard → Selling → Seller Tools → FastBound Integration

• Enter your FastBound account number and API key

• Assign the shipping fee for each “item type” (e.g. handguns, long guns, parts, etc.)

• Hit “Sync Inventory” — any items in your FastBound bound book that have both a UPC and price will automatically be created as new listings on GunsAmerica

• Click “OK” to confirm and activate the integration

2. Photo handling

• If your record in FastBound includes product photos, the integration will pull those photos and attach them to the GunsAmerica listing

• If FastBound has no photos for an item, GunsAmerica will assign a stock or placeholder image

• You can always edit or override images on the GunsAmerica side later by editing a listing, if desired

3. Ongoing sync & updates

Once the integration is active:

• Any new item you add to your FastBound bound book (with UPC + price) will be pushed over and listed on GunsAmerica (within ~6 hours)

• Any updates or edits you make (price changes, description tweaks, etc.) will similarly sync to the GunsAmerica listing

• If you delete an item from FastBound (or mark it inactive), the integration will remove or deactivate the corresponding GunsAmerica listing

This ensures your GunsAmerica store stays in lockstep with your bound book over time.

4. What happens behind the scenes (sync interval, conflict handling)

• The integration runs periodic sync cycles (every few hours), so there may be a delay (up to ~6 hours) before changes are visible on GunsAmerica.

• If a required field is missing in FastBound (e.g. UPC, price), that item will be skipped and not listed until the data is added

• You retain full control on the GunsAmerica side. You can close, remove, or edit listings that came from FastBound

Tips & best practices

• Ensure data quality in FastBound: because everything is driven from your bound book, correct UPCs, pricing, descriptions, and photos all reduce manual cleanup later

• Stock images are fallback only: you’ll get better conversion and fewer returns if you supply your own photos in FastBound

• Plan your shipping fees: set them appropriately in the integration setup so that your overall costs are covered

• Double-check for duplicates: if you previously listed items manually on GunsAmerica, you may want to disable or merge duplicates before turning on the integration

• Monitor the first sync carefully: verify that items created match your expectations (title, photos, price)

• Allow for sync lag: though we strive for under 6 hours, there can occasionally be delays, don’t expect instant changes
