How to Use the Local Listing Feature – Sellers

GunsAmerica now gives you the option to create Local Listings, perfect for sellers who prefer in-person, face-to-face transactions. This new listing type is designed to connect you with buyers in your area—no shipping, no online payments, just a straightforward local sale.

What Is a Local Listing?

A Local Listing is a post that appears in search results for buyers in their geographic area. These listings are intended for cash-and-carry style sales—no shipping, no transfers outside your area, and no on-platform payment required.

Key Benefits of Local Listings

  • No payment setup required: Since you’re meeting in person, you won’t need to set up GunTab or provide live checkout payment information to list.

  • Quick, simple transactions: Connect with a local buyer, arrange a meet-up, and complete the sale on your terms.

  • Increased visibility for local buyers: Your item will be shown to nearby users looking for deals in their area.

How to Post a Local Listing

  1. Start a new listing as usual.

  2. When prompted to choose your listing type, select Local Listing.

  3. Enter your ZIP code so buyers nearby can find your item.

  4. Complete the rest of your listing (photos, description, etc.) and publish.

Listing Fee for Local Listings

Posting a Local Listing costs $5.00 for a 30-day listing. There are no additional fees or commissions—just a simple flat rate to help connect you with local buyers.

Important Notes

  • Local listings are excluded from nationwide search results. If you want your listing to be visible to buyers across the U.S., choose a National Listing.

  • Transactions are handled off-platform, so GunsAmerica does not process payments or provide buyer/seller protection on Local Listings.

  • It’s your responsibility to ensure all local, state, and federal laws are followed in any private transaction.

Safety Tips for Meeting Local Buyers

  • Always meet in a public, well-lit location, preferably one with surveillance cameras—many police stations offer designated “safe exchange zones.”

  • Bring a friend or let someone know where you’re going and who you’re meeting.

  • Never share personal information beyond what’s necessary for the meetup.

  • Verify the buyer is legally allowed to own a firearm before finalizing the transaction. Follow all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
