Sellers can restrict purchases based on the buyer’s state. Use this tool to help stay aligned with compliance needs for where you will (and will not) ship.
This is a seller-configured restriction in addition to platform and legal rules. It does not replace your FFL, ATF, or other legal obligations.
For sellers — set state restrictions
- Sign in and go to Seller Tools:
gunsamerica.com/dashboard/selling/tools
- Open the tool for restricting purchases by state.
- Add states to your restriction list.
- Save / confirm your changes.
After you save, buyers whose selected state is on your restriction list are blocked at purchase.
For buyers — what you’ll see at checkout
If a seller has restricted your selected state, checkout shows an error like this:
Purchase restricted based on location
This item is not eligible for shipment to your selected state due to compliance requirements and seller restrictions.
Please select an alternative item or seller that supports your location.
What to do next
- Choose another item or another seller that supports your location, or
- Select a supported shipping location if that applies to your order
GunsAmerica will not invent workarounds past a seller’s state restriction. If you believe the message is wrong, contact the seller through GunsAmerica messages or GunsAmerica support with your order details.
Why this exists
Sellers use state restrictions to help manage compliance for shipments they cannot fulfill to certain states. Restrictions are set by the seller in Seller Tools and enforced at purchase.
