Saved Responses for Seller Messages

Save common replies once and reuse them when messaging buyers — similar to how saved shipping terms work. Only sellers see save actions; non-sellers do not.

Manage your saved responses

  1. Go to Dashboard → Selling → Saved responses.
  2. View the templates you have saved.

Save a reply while messaging (Inbox)

  1. Open Dashboard → Messages → Inbox.
  2. Open a message and choose Reply.
  3. Enter your reply text.
  4. Choose how you want to finish:
ActionWhat it does
Save ReplySaves the text as a template. You’ll see a success message and a View link to the saved-responses page.
Send & Save ReplySends the reply and saves it as a template. Combined success; View link on save success.
Send ReplySends only (no template saved; no View link).

If Send & Save partially fails

If the message sends but the save fails, the status indicates send OK / save failed, and there is no View link. Your buyer still gets the reply; try saving again from the Sent thread or the saved-responses page.

Save from a Sent thread

  1. Go to Messages → Sent and open the thread.
  2. On a seller-authored message in the conversation, use save reply for that message only.
  3. On success you’ll get a View link, and a Saved badge appears on that message only.

Reuse a saved response

  1. Start composing a reply to a buyer (Inbox reply flow).
  2. Choose a saved response from the dropdown (same idea as saved shipping terms).
  3. Review the inserted text, edit if needed, then send.

Tips and troubleshooting

  • Keep templates current: update prices, lead times, and transfer details when they change.
  • Personalize before sending: check the buyer’s question and the listing.
  • Save only from your own messages: on Sent threads, only seller-authored messages can be saved by that seller. Buyer messages do not show save actions.
  • Seller-only UI: non-sellers should not see save controls or be able to save templates.
  • 403 / not allowed: confirm you are signed in as a seller and you are saving a seller-authored reply.
  • Message sends but isn’t saved: the recipient still received your reply; retry the save from the Sent thread or saved-responses page.
