Put your listings on sale with the Listing Discounts tool in your seller dashboard. Each discount is either a percentage off or a fixed amount off, and you can apply it to all listings or to selected listings. You can also set a start date, an optional end date, and turn a discount on or off at any time.
While a discount is active, buyers see an On Sale label, the original price crossed out, and the new sale price. See On Sale Badge and Sale Pricing for what buyers see.
Open Listing Discounts
- Sign in to your GunsAmerica seller account.
- Go to Seller Tools: https://gunsamerica.com/dashboard/selling/tools
- Open Listing Discounts (“Apply and manage discounts for your listings.”).
You can also go straight to https://gunsamerica.com/dashboard/selling/listing-discounts.
The Listing Discounts page lists every discount you have created, with its Name, Discount, Applies To, Dates, and Status.
Create a discount
- On the Listing Discounts page, click Apply Discount.
- In Discount name, enter a name you will recognize later, for example “Labor Day Sale”. The name helps you find the discount later on the Listing Discounts page.
- Under Discount type, choose one:
- Percentage off: enter a percentage greater than 0 and less than 100.
- Fixed amount off: enter a dollar amount greater than $0.
- Under Apply discount to, choose All listings or Selected listings (see the next two sections).
- Set the Start date. It defaults to today.
- Optional: set an End date. Leave it blank if the discount should run until you turn it off or delete it.
- Leave Active checked to turn the discount on.
- Click Apply Discount.
When the discount is saved, you will see a message such as “Discount created successfully for 12 listings.”
Apply a discount to all listings
Use this for a store-wide sale.
- In the discount form, under Apply discount to, choose All listings. The form shows how many of your current eligible active listings match.
- Finish the rest of the form and click Apply Discount.
- A confirmation appears: “Apply discount to all listings? This discount will apply to all [number] eligible listings.”
- Click Apply Discount to confirm, or Cancel to go back.
Apply a discount to selected listings
Use this when only some items should be on sale.
- In the discount form, under Apply discount to, choose Selected listings.
- In Select listings, check the box next to each listing you want to include. Each row shows the listing title, Stock #, and Price.
- Use Search listings… to find a listing.
- Use the checkbox in the table header to select every listing on the current page.
- Click Show selected to review only the listings you picked, then Show all listings to go back.
- Finish the rest of the form and click Apply Discount.
Only active listings appear in the list. You must select at least one listing to save the discount.
Discount status
Each discount on the Listing Discounts page shows one of these statuses:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Active | The discount is on and its dates include today. |
| Scheduled | The discount is on, but its start date is in the future. |
| Expired | The end date has passed. |
| Inactive | The Active box is unchecked, so the discount is turned off. |
The On Sale label only shows on a listing while a discount on it is active.
To find a discount, use the search bar (search By Discount ID or By Listing ID) or filter by status: All, Active, Inactive, Scheduled, or Expired.
Change a discount
- On the Listing Discounts page, click Edit next to the discount.
- Change the name, type, amount, listings, or dates.
- Click Update Discount.
You will see a message such as “Discount updated successfully for 12 listings.”
End or remove a discount
You have three options:
- Turn it off for now: click Edit, uncheck Active, and click Update Discount. The status changes to Inactive. Check Active again later to turn it back on.
- Let it end on a date: click Edit, set an End date, and click Update Discount. The status changes to Expired after that date.
- Delete it: click Delete next to the discount, then click Delete Discount to confirm. Deleting cannot be undone.
Discount rules
GunsAmerica checks every discount before it is saved:
- A Discount name and Start date are required.
- A percentage must be greater than 0 and less than 100.
- A fixed amount must be greater than $0 and cannot be more than the listing price.
- The end date cannot be before the start date.
- Each discount is either a percentage or a fixed amount, not both.
The sale price is calculated automatically from your listing price and your discount, and the same sale price shows everywhere the listing appears on GunsAmerica.
Tips
- Use All listings for a store-wide sale and Selected listings when only part of your inventory should be on sale.
- Plan a sale ahead of time by setting a future Start date. The discount shows as Scheduled until it starts.
- After you save a discount, open one of the listings and check that it shows On Sale with the original price crossed out and the correct sale price.
